Blunt weapons for a pally...

Guys, I havent played SOA for a while but i want to start again with a Pally. But I want to give my Pally a good blunt weapon for killing Golems... etc Anyone got any good suggestions..?

ummmmm... IIRC i think the only blunt weapon good against golems is a hammer in nalia's keep, am i right? if there is what im talking about, it will be in the room with all the golems upstairs. My Fav blunt weapon is the mace of disruption, very good against undead and you can upgrade it too [img]smile.gif[/img]

IIRC, it insta-kills Clay and Stone Golems.

there's a stave you can buy in the drow city that has insta-kill on golems too

Guys I'm just wondering, how does a staff work with a PAlly? I want to try something different so i decided to put 2 slots in quaterstaffs.... i just thought that it looks funny seeing a Pally wacking enemies with a staff instead of using the Holy Avenger

I would probably go with a Staff. That way you can put points into 'two handed weapon' style and use it for both the staff, and the Holy Avenger.

Thats what i did, but i wonder if staffs r enough to handle Golems....

Ahh, the Rod of Smiting. This isn't "insta-kill" however, since the golems need to fail their saves vs death, and it has very limited useage (pure class warriors for example, cannot wield it). Most Golems have decent saves however (especially vs death), so this rod isn't all that useful. Crom Faeyr however, will instantly slay flesh, clay, stone and sand golems.

Nothing wrong with staves, they are plentyful, and if you have ToB installed, you have access to the most damaging weapon in the game using this category. Right from leaving Mr I's dungeon however, you can get yourself a staff of Rhynn +4, which can hit *any* creature in the game (since no creatures are immune to blunt weapons AFAIK, and +4 enchantment if enough to handle even Demi-Liches). So, to sum up, staves are an excellent proficiency.
