The big mods

Need comments/advice from people who have played the larger mods and TCs (Darkest Day, Shadows over Soubar, Tortured Souls, Epic Endeavours). Not after technical advice, rather info on enjoyment and playability etc. Is it worth breaching my download limit to get them?

TDD is OK.

Many of the kits are useless. Much of the dialogue is packed with errors of all kinds.

However, some of the new areas can be pretty fun, but many of them are just standard monster killing with few rewards areas.

Worth it? No.

Tortured Souls is quite well done. I like it. My only gripe is the English errors, but I think the guys who made it are not native speakers, still it's not a huge deal. Good game though, it runs so smoothly, that you could nearly believe that it is official. It is quite easy to get to the new stuff without griping over how hard it is to get.

Sands over Soubar. Seems good so far, but I find it annoying that I can't find out about the new stuff for a while...

TDD. I just can't get into it. The new stuff is easily accessible, but it is so hard to survive, it makes you wish it wasn't there. The new "kits" are so "krappe" that they are a joke. Just stick with the original stuff. It is way harder than regular mode, but not quite as hard as "HoF mode" from IWD series. I have not thought, "oh wow TDD is really great!" coz its not.

Try TS, much smaller download, good story, balanced items and NPCs. Only gripe is the English, and you can overlook it. Enjoy.

TDD makes the first dungeon mightily annoying, especially if you're soloing.

i tried tdd and got very lost, eventually i gave up and just moved on to tob

Thanks for the info, guys. From browsing through the DD webpage, i'd have thought it would have been the pick of the bunch. I guess i'll still download it but i might start off with SOS.

There are a few smaller mods that i'm also looking at but they look a little rough around the edges. Has anyone played: The Lost Children, Battle at the Deep or Desecration of Souls?
