when a mage has learned the maximum number of spells for their level/intellegence, can any of those spells be unlearned so new spells may be learned in their place? I would really like one of my mages to be able to learn lower resistance but they are maxed out TIA

If you have TOB, Delete the Spell from your spellbook.
If you don`t have TOB, you need to cheat to do it.

You can also drink potions to increase your intelligence, thus allowing you to gain more spells for the level.

Grammar is correct. Utilising either Potions of Genius or Potions of Mind Focusing, you can boost your INT to 19+ which means you can scribe as many different scrolls as you like.

The spells will stay even when the effects of the potions wear off.

Drink Potions! Lots and Lots of Potions! I can't see a reason to delete them.

thanks gang! (do any of the potions permenently increase int?)
I am in the process of putting all of my spells into a spreadsheet for easy cross-referencing. I had so many spells that I needed to look at each one and see who had what.. etc
I love this game! I just wish I didnt have to work so hard at it, and it was more like play and not work; but a labor of love it has become to me at this point.
btw Lennoncook's cabala link didn't work for me.

Alson's Spells Reference is really useful at this point.

No, we're apparently having a downtime now. Hyperboard will probably have it fixed soon, though.

There aren't any potions in BG2 to permanently boost anything, as far as i know, but....

There is that Tome in BG1 that can increase your INT by 1, and in ToB, you can use both the Machine of Lum the Mad and the Deck of Many Things to get an additional +2 INT bonus.

Oh, and the Cabala link works fine for me, LennonCook.

ADD] Thanks, Sir Exxon!
The link for the Spell Reference is in my sig, pschub.

Yes, the spell reference is one of my favorite bookmarks. It tells me what spells are effective and what ones are ineffective. I just wanted to put all my spells in rows and my mages and priests in columns and check which npc had what spell.
