R-click the ID2 "setup" file and set it's Compatibility mode to WinXP.
R-click the ID2 "setup" file... select "run as administrator". It should install now. Your PC not letting you DL the patch is a security issue. You probably have your internet security set too tight. Lower your security settings and see if it will DL. You can also try a different browser, such as Firefox, and DL the patch thru that browser. Also, when you get that 'publisher could not be verified' stuff... you should be able to click on the nag and ignore it... thereby allowing it to DL.

Done some looking on internet and according to some comments the problem maybe that the installed McAfee security (the laptop came with) is thinking its a trojan and is blocking it.
I will unistall Mcafee (as got avira) and see what happens |

Thanks again ElfBane, seemed to have installed okay nowand will test/play it tmrrw to see if all okay.
Will do what you said re DL the patch. Need to go out so will try later. Q re the patch. When i DL it do i need to do anything special with it (run it?) or just save it and that's it? I imagine a patch is required to iron out any issues etc I also assume it doesn't matter when i DL the patch ie. before i start playing or once i started. Will let you know how i got on. Thanks. |

You have to install the patch. D-click the executable.

The game allowed me to go into 'create a party' mode so s/be okay.
DL the patch and it didn't allow me save (same ....verified stuff) but it did let me run it. it took only a few seconds but said patch had been installed. Though, I did see 2.01 highlighted on the main game page is this good enough or should i install a new browser (firefox, chrome...) and try and save it? Thanks |

If the patch installed, then play on!
The fact that IE isn't letting you "save" the patch... well, as I said before, is an issue with your PCs security settings. I don't know how your PC is set up. Are you on an Administrator account, or just a user? But I really don't want to get involved with your security issues. If you want your PC to be less restrictive, then you know how to do it......Google it, learn how to do it yourself, and that way it sticks.
