Bearing in mind that sanctions will not harm Saddam and his cronies in the slightest, and that the people of Iraq will suffer even more than they already are, should Iraq be sanctioned? Please just write a Yes/No answer...if yes then please answer why the citizens of Iraq should be made to suffer for something they cannot change?

The answer is obviously yes.

Why? I don't know, I agree sanctions are not really harming the political leaders. However, the UN in it's ultimate wisdom and supreme fear of actually doing anything constructive has decreed that we shall attempt to talk saddam hussein into submission and use economic sanctions against him. What the sanctions do, do is to limit the amount of funds he has available to buy materials of war from external nations, so there is one positive aspect of the sanctions.

By the way, your question is really phrased badly...you say only answer yes or no...then instruct people to write more than a simple yes or no.

Everything can change, if they're fed up eventually, or if they have the balls, they overthrow the regime, just like what happened in Romania.
