... is expected to be removed from the Endangered Species Act. From less than 400 mating pair in the mid-1960s, the Eagle has grown to number 7000 mating pairs now. Don't grab your guns just yet, though, folks, it will still likely be illegal to hunt them, I think.

It's good to hear the species is doing fine. The bald eagle is one of the most beautiful and graceful animals on the planet. Like the Hierophant said, you gotta have a serious screw loose if you wanna shoot something as beautiful as that.

Ya shoot 'em, stuff 'em, and stick 'em over the fire place!
If you really want to save a species, just announce that it is good to eat. Farms will be raising them overnight.

You can taxidermy them though. Egyptians got good at it in a way through mummification.

Ick, john, ick.
Anyway, at least this thread did not turn out to what ask what it could have -- namely, the nuances and distinctions under the Endangered Species Act. The last thing I wanted to do is answer a litany of questions as to how an animal gets listed or de-listed, and what the differences between "endangered" and "threatened" under the ESA may be. |
