Hello peeps
i hear you all talking a lot bout this Nessie thing , i havnt seen her yet , but what i wanted to ask was , is she THAt tought? Coz by far the toughest monster I have encountered was the soul eater.. in ascension peak zone. GOD , that thing is a nightmare , took me around 20 - 25 tries just to kill him without having WHOLE party killed! and by the time im writing this , i have probably tried like 10 times killing the djin of the clouds , those bastages come in the 3 group as you know , the greater demon among them is such a sissy , i killed her like cake and the highest lvl in my team is lvl 21. anyway if any of you know any good strat about killing those bleeding Djinns , post it here plz. i probably will have killed them by the time i read this again but still.
and tell me is nessie still tougher that souleater and the djinns?
Thanx in advance to whoever who helps.
ButcH

Soul shield + element shield in the first round of combat.

(I assume you always have a full power Armorplate, Enchanted Blade and Magic Screen on)

Work that defensive magic. You've got to think about keeping your guys alive before you think about dispatching the bad guys.

I killed Nessie at L16-19 without losing anyone. I think Soul Shield or Element Shield was key to damping out her breath attack. At L21 you should be able to do it.

I remember that fight...there was actually another tougher one on AP where I caught two groups of Djinns with Imps with a group of Maddening Gazers and then joined by some flying snakes...THAT was a tough fight, basically had to find a boulder to half hide behind. But as for the 3 Djinn/Demon fight, I resorted to some unorthodox tactics. Way back at lvl12 I started getting all my characters to use bows or crossbows so by the time they reached AP, everybody was quite proficient at ranged combat and still maxed out on their close combat skills. Initially I did this because I was fed up with having to close in on groups of flies that used stand-off tactics. However, by loading everyone up with arrows/bolts that drain stamina (lightning, barbed, etc) and getting at least two hits per person per round, the Djinn were falling unconscious all over the place. It also helped that my gadgeteer was causing blindness every few shots. Battle was a piece of cake.

for the djinns, along with the shields, purify air is a must.

If you don't have enough people that can cast purify air, grab a few ring of breezes from bela or ferro. Delay your turn every round by going into walk mode so that if the djinns cast a cloud spell, you can clear it before the end of the round.

Cast one power level of purify air for each level of a cloud spell cast on you. The exception (and most dangerous) is death cloud. It requires more than a 1:1 ratio.

Oh, here's a nice tip. If the Djinns have Eye for an Eye cast upon them and you're hit with a high level cloud spell, cast the same cloud spell at them, but at level 1. Your weak cloud spell will be reflected back at you; the way the game is, the second cloud spell will override the first. Being level 1, it will work its magic then dissipate at the end of the round. This also helps to save your air magic points since you don't need a high level purify air to clear it.

Another thing that gastro should have done, is load everyone up with mystic arrows (ferro has a constant supply). and paralyze everyone...

35% paralyze + 3 attacks, 3 shots an attack = no chance that the monster is moving at the end of the round. Then the high lv elementls go to work. OH the joy of a 4 magic/ranger/gadg party.

I just did this section. The first try I died, second try this strategy worked best:

1) Have fastest char cast eye for an eye
2) slow spellcaster cast purify air
3) Psionic caster does haste
4) after that just set your party to walk an inch or 2 each round and have your spellcaster cast purify air.

You will get rid of all the nasty clouds and get closer. I found the djinns killed themselves with the deathclouds....

I know I sound like a glutton for punishment here, but are the Djinni and Souleater "boss" creatures that only appear once, at that point in the game? Reason I'm askin is cause my party is at Ascension Peak at Level 30, and I want to keep rackin' up the levels! I would like to give my Bishop every single spell in the game (just 'cause it's there to do, haha) and need levels.

So far the best monsters I've encountered are the "super-elementals" like Torrent, Blast, Inferno, Avalanche, etc. I just wondered if when I advance in levels I can meet some wandering Genies of the Clouds so I can rack up that EXP!
