I know I need a... well, you know... a dXXXXr to get into the cemetary retro dungeon. But, I can't find one anywhere! By the time I found out about these dungeons I was level 15, and had sold all those useless dXXXXs to Antone or threw them at Myles' for his condescending attitude. Now I can't find any! Variants on the dXXXXr theme don't seem to work, so... have I missed this opportunity to relive my youth? (apart from the other two dungeons, of course)

Of course, I can always check it out next time I play the game with a new party. Not that I need an excuse to play it again.

Shopkeepers do stock them.
Best bet is to make sure it has been 24 game-hours since you have been in the shop.
Save your game before you talk to the shopkeeper.
Keep reloading until they have one available.
I got mine from Antone along with the other two items needed for the other dungeons.

If you are having no luck at the shops you can try walking between Arnika and the Monastery to fight the numerous Higardi Bandits who usually drop one. There are also a few other mobs that drop them too.

Thanks for the advice. After many visits to the various shops, none of which stocked daggers anymore, and after bludgeoning and frying hundreds of Higardi and not finding a single dagger (usually throwing knives) I was starting to wonder whether such a low-power weapon was no longer available later in the game. Hence, the question I posted.

And then the very day after I posted this request, I came across a group of Rattkin just outside Arnika. After making rat pie, lo and behold I found not one but TWO daggers on them.

So you see, posting questions does produce results, even if it's only shifting the balance of the universe everso slightly in your favour.

Just make sure before you go in that you have access to either knockpicks or knock-knock spell and some decent lock-picking skills or you are liable to get trapped down there for awhile. You should get some decent XP out of it and a few nice items. I remember I found a Plague Axe in one room and some +3 Plate Armor in another. I'm not sure how much is randomly generated and how much is fixed.

I -do- know the best item in all three of the Retro Dungeons is found in the Mtn Wilderness one and is found after the last big battle in that dungeon. Happy Questing!
