When I was playing last night the weirdest thing happened I met a Gorgon on level 1. Not that there was anything strange about meeting a Gorgon in Undermountain. It was my first time stoned, no I wasn't smoking weed, I mean the Gorgon turned me to stone. When it happened I was prompted by the game to load or Exit. Loading it would not let me so I had to exit NWN altogether. When I restarted my game my character was still standing there stoned with the Gorgon still pounding away on my statue. Eventually after a few minutes he killed my statue and I could respawn, upon respawning I punched him right in the nose getting rid of him since he was badly injured from my first encounter.

I guess I just want to know is being stoned supposed to work this way with the only way out is death or somebody casting a stone to skin spell on you? or is it suppose to wear off with time.

It's supposed to wear off with time, you must have been the only one online at when it happened to you and the game thought that you were domed.

I was there, too far away to help, and thought that it was odd as well. Being turned to stone normally wears off if you can stay alive long enough

Being stoned wears off if the difficulty settings are low enough. Otherwise it's permanent.

You mean that you don't fancy becomming known as "Pritchke, the indestructable statue".

I guess being a permanent resident of undermountain would not be so bad. A little boring maybe as I would be stuck in that one spot with a Gorgon or hook horror for company but neat in the sense that my character would always be remember by those who passed that way.

Yeah that has happened to me as well. Strange thing was that with the Gorgon was a hook horror and a rust monster.

While I was turned to stone the rust monster took rusted my weapons.
