Most of the romance talks are triggered based on real time passed, not game time passed. If you are not having romance talks, try pausing the game, leaving the game alone while you go do chores around the house for a while, then come back and unpause. If that doesn't trigger a lovetalk (make sure you are not in a dungeon or such) then you may have some sort of problem.
