Truespace 6.6 is about $600US, so I bet version 3 is fairly cheap. Has a steep learning curve though IMO. I found it rather strange to work with. I guess it's mainly the interface which I find strange. I use Maya and it's pretty orderly and well laid out...most of the time. *sigh*

Yeah, I modeled it in truespace 3, and then imported it into trueSpace 6.5 for rendering and other tools. I like 3, because it's easier for me to model some things. Been using trueSpace since version 1.0, and it's easy to learn after a few days of playing around with it.
Here is the final (well, almost) version of the Starship: I designed this before Voyager came out--actually guessed at what Voyager might look like, and this is what I drew up and was in my old trek movie I did in Deluxe Paint Animation. I came close huh? Anyway, it's about the size of Voyager with Phaser Banks on the top, and under the hull as well as some other cool features.. I'll post a animation of it in a fly by so you can see it better, and in action!

I'm assuming by the windows that it's much larger than Voyager (unless my memory is faulty, but then I never really got into that show anyway). Apart from that your guess was fantastically accurate.
