Scheduled Voice Chat

The Silver River has a regularly scheduled "voice chat" once a month. We have been inviting other "sister" forums to join us. We are inviting anyone from Ironworks to join us for the next scheduled "voice chat." It will be this coming Saturday, February 22, 2003 at 4:30 pm Central Standard Time (adjust your time accordingly.

Go here http://groups.yahoo.com/group/silver_river_group/.

You will have to join but that very easy and takes little time (joining the voice chat group doest not automatically make you a member of The Silver River). You DO NOT need to have a mic to participate in the voice chat; you do need to have speakers. You have the option for typing rather than talking and people do both.

Once you have registered there is a link on the left that says "chat"---just click on it. More details concerning the voice chat is available at The Silver River.

Just a small addendum - being a member of The Silver River does not automatically mean you are a member of the Yahoo Group either, so even if you're one of TSR's highly valued priso ... er ... members, you'll have to register at the group [img]smile.gif[/img]

If you haven't done a voicechat before, try it! It's absolute chaos, and rather fun

Oh, one more thing - seeing as you get alot of people in there at once, some adult topic/profanity sometimes crop up, so if you have young children in hearing distance, you should either give everyone a warning to watch their language when you get in to the room, *or* buy some headphones

I was under the impression that you needed a microphone to participate, the reason why I've never been involved with any previous voice chats on The Silver River

I'll give it a look, thanks for posting the thread.

I think alot of people have thought that and that is why I wanted to make it clear that you do not need a mic or even if you have one and just don't want to talk you don't have to. It is alot of fun.

Maybe we should have referred to it as The Chatroom With Voice Capability That Does Not Require A Microphone To Participate.

It's not as snappy, though.
