"DEATH be not proud, though some have called thee
Mighty and dreadfull, for, thou art not so, For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow, Die not, poore death, nor yet canst thou kill me. From rest and sleepe, which but thy pictures bee, Much pleasure, then from thee, much more must flow, And soonest our best men with thee doe goe, Rest of their bones, and soules deliverie. Thou art slave to Fate, Chance, kings, and desperate men, And dost with poyson, warre, and sicknesse dwell, And poppie, or charmes can make us sleepe as well, And better then thy stroake; why swell'st thou then; One short sleepe past, wee wake eternally, And death shall be no more; death, thou shalt die." (John Donne) Farewell, Doug! We shall miss you. [This message has been edited by Sazerac (edited 05-12-2001).] |

Very Sad, indeed. i'm just happy he made it past 42. That would have been too weird, even for him. Someone might want to post this in the book forum, if Epona hasn't already.

I COULD NOT believe what I heard this morning on the radio.
It's been said that every life, however brief, can teach us something. Until I read Douglas Adams' HitchHiker books, I thought sci-fi was all about robots and wierd techno-speak. He taught me it had a sense of humour and soul. That was a BIGGIE! So long, and thanks .... ------------------ Fantaghiro |

A great and sad loss. - I was stunned when I heard it one the news.
I can remember listening to the tapes of Hitchhikers Guide in the car, on holiday about 10 years ago. When they finished I couldn't wait to get home and read the books, and loved them even more. It's a shame someone like that has passed on. |

How sad indeed.
My son will be devastated. And on Rex's birthday! I am sure he too will mourn our loss. Rest In Peace Sir Moni ------------------ |
