Another very good online converter:
http://www.sciencemadesimple.com/conversions.html

Covers pretty much all of the conversions.

Isn't the metric system French? I thought all things French were for terrorists only?

Actually, it's 2.54. Officially, even -- no rounding involved or anything else.

Not that it matters, but if Stormy's son is ...

in the US, he'd be the same in Sweden. Going to another country doesn't change your size or weight (although returning, especially after a really good vacation, has been rumored to change one's weight... ).

It would be a whole lot easier if we'd just start using the metric system over here...

We use both metric and english placing concrete forms, materials and anchoring device's listed in our blueprints. 1" is 25mm. 1/4" is 6mm. Easy right! It's all based on 10's.

Alot of materials imported are already measured and shipped via metric system. 100mm equals 4 inches. A 4'x 8' sheet of material would be ---2400mm x 4800mm (close to it.) Now this is a slight variation in conversions and this is not an exact formula but it's close just to give a general idea of size. 16mm is 5/8th's of an inch-
