Ok. Some time ago (I believe it was october/november 2003) I asked about my computer checking my system for consistency at start-up. Andrewas was so kind ot point me to a possible solution and being the lazy me that I am I only just recently performed that operation, simply because the problem wasn't so demanding as I had first believed it to be.
Monday I did a registry clean-up; removed some files, and stuff taking it step by step following Microsoft's directions and at first it seemed to have worked. However, every time I reboot now, it still wants to check for consistencies. Any other ideas, or did I just do something wrong? My system is Windows XP |

Link,
Have you done a full scandisk? I mean thorough, with all the detail stuff? It may be that there's something funny on the drive, and Windows is noticing it. The stuff you've listed so far wouldn't necessarily fix that.
