I saw a news item that stated the kids in Jolly Ol' didn't care for the movie(s) as well as the books. It seems they prefer to imagine the magic as to see the special effects. The publisher stated they wouldn't even use photos from the films on the book jackets.

From my friend who works at the theatre:
"It sucks, I'm not in the angersome mood" Damn I was hoping he'd give me something good to write... On to plan two, I'll remind him that his shift starts at 7am cause of that damn movie: "Yes I know" goddamn lol. oh well, I'll try again later

Having thought about it since I wrote the original post...isn't this true for most books made into movies? If you read the book first you then KNOW how each character looks, how the landscape looks and so on. The movie is rarely like you envisioned it. I think we are loosing something by relying on tv and the movies for our recreational information.

I've yet to read the books but I believe the movies are very good... without having my opinion clouded by preconceptions. It's very difficult to make a movie out of a book in the first place... to do so and be 100% faithful to the book would be virtually impossible.
Just got back from seeing CoS... it was even better than the first movie imo, solid acting, better plot and of course great effects. |

A girl in my class left early to go to that. Personally I'm a little po'd that the new book hasn't come out yet.
