That's what I think, too.
You rarely get Ankhs from them, but since they are practically everywhere in the later dungeons, you can get a few nonetheless.

I would save the Anks until you get your stats up to 18 because you can use the Anks to raise those stats up to 24. And here is a little spoiler. when you get to the boogre prision if you decide to go. Make sure to use some boogre brew on the idol of Bungu. It will raise your fortude or it will give you a special trait.

Do'h, I sold one to the armory at Ishd N'ha, guess I'll have to get it back, oy, and thanks for the hint about the Boogre prision, if I do choose to go there, I'll do what you said and try to get that trait.

You can get one of two traits. If you have your Fortude up to 24. You can get your Fortude raised up to 25. The farthest you may raise it with the Anks and training is 24.

Actually, I suggest you save the ankhs until your stats have hit 20. Even though you're told you can only train to level 18, you can actually train to level 20. Although it may be that your own attribute points can only be applied to level 18... I forget.

Likewise, I almost never use attribute points on anything I can train in. That means they go to... lessee... Will, fortitude, and presence, although methinks you can "train" presence at the temple. Just tithe like you're supposed to, and enjoy the results.

a word of ADDITIONAL advice.........when u reach areas where most of the monsters u encounter are undead, especially mummies, u will tend to get at least a total of 2-6 ankhs not including those u find in chests.
for example, the total ankhs i found in the shrine of anephas, including those i found in chests, was about the whole of my inventory for 1 character! that would mean........about 35-40 ankhs in total !!!!!!
oh well, i wish u guys happy hunting for ankhs!
