I'm probably completely wrong, but I seem to remember hearing that it can.
I know that Everquest, Asheron's Call and Anarchy Online can't be played offline other than a very limited training mode. The reason I'm interested is that I really like the free-form style of MMORPGs but can't afford to pay the huge phonebills and subscription fees that result! Morrowind is a very impressive-looking freeform single-player RPG but has been delayed until Spring (it'll probably end up being Summer) 2002.. |

It is an MMORPG, Massive MULTIPLAYER ONLINE RolePlaying Game, online and multiplayer only, which is why it sucks.

Agreed. Online multiplayer and RPG are words that don't go well with eachother.

Cool, yes, untill someone starts to do things that aren't really cool anymore. Such as firing a fireball while the front liners are allready pretty beat up. Seriously how stupid can you get. Online RPG's sound good and most people who play them are good folks but it only takes a few 'bad apples' to spoil the entire experience.

The only problem is that there will always be these 'bad apples'. People are always gonna come in and treat it as a 'shooter' and wont care about roleplaying.
