I started getting them around 24, and I still have 98% brown. I found this article funny. Anderson Coopers story
http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/08/16/going.gray/index.html I never check every gray or look at other gray haired men. I sure as hell don't go looking for other graying men to look at their hair.. lol. I know by the time I am all gray, I can get a genetic/DNA fix by then to have any color I wish. (I said this about teeth too--20 years ago) and yes, in 5-9 years, soon dentists will be able to inject a gene into where you want a new tooth or where a bad one is, and grow a REAL, NEW tooth. forget that 'cap' crap. YOU WANT USDA chompers! I have 1 tooth I had to get a root canal in, and yes, yer tooth is dead when they do it. Sooooo.. waiting. This could really hurt dentists in the long run, but earily on, it'll cost about $2000 for a new tooth. ouch.... but does that hurt the pocket book MORE than your aching tooth? I had no idea Anderson Cooper was only 35 years old. I feel like such a slacker now.

Yeppers.... grey hair is inevitable for all but a few folks, for whom no hair is the option. I scope mine out periodically... I occasionally have a few greys show up, but it seems to be related to my stress level -- more stress, more runaways.
As for the teeth, I ran across that a few months ago. They're using (dum-dum-DUUUMMMM!!!) stem cell technology to do it... they take embryonic stem cells that have not been "programmed" to be any particular kind of cell yet, place 'em in the spot where a tooth should be, and a tooth then grows. They've had successful tests on mice so far... and knowing that the average person loses eight of their teeth in their lifetime (and me with four wisdom teeth removed, two root-canalled, and three crowned), the possibility of real replacement teeth is very intriguing. And according to the guy who did my last root canal, the tooth is not completely dead. There are no nerves left on the inside, but there are nerves on the outside around the base, and they can still cause you grief... *edit* typos... I'll have to show my husband this one. He's always fretting over a stray grey hair or two on his head but I figure if we have 'em we've earned them!

If I could get a new tooth for 2k or a root canal for 2k I think I would go withthe tooth. as for gray hair, I welcome it as a right of passage. I started off blonde, turned brown, so hey why not end it gray!!

My dads father is 67 and hasn't got a grey hair for some reason. Our family seems to have very tough strong hair for some strange reason.
