Whoa, Close Call

Now that was a close encounter there. I just got out of my chemistry class, put my books under my arm and started walking home. There was a big storm cloud (I mean collosal), and thunder starting booming in the distance. I didn't really think anything of it until I got to the track field.

A bolt of lightning landed near a fence 5 feet away from me, and considering I'm a bit paranoid of lightning anyway, I ran and I ran to get to my house because the storm was moving quick.

I'm not kidding, seeing lightning up that close scared the (bleep) out of me, mother nature's got it out for me, that's what it is

Glad you came out okay dude.

But since it was such a close call, you should check if you haven't got any supernatural powers now, maybe you've been blessed with "the gift".

Same thing happened to me when I was 15, on my way home from work. It hit so close, it tossed me off of my bike onto the ground. I couldn't hear a thing for 2 days. Not something I'd like to repeat any time soon.

Just curious - what IS the right thing to do, under such circumstances? Should we get lie down flat or run for our dear lives? I don't think I'm well-prepared for such situations

yep.. a close call over there.. so lesson learned, bring a lightning rod so you can get powers

My ex told me it's best to run up a hill and raise both hands while holding big pieces of metal. She always was a nice girl, so i trust her on this.
