Ignore the man. Its a decent setup. The only problems I can see is that hyperthreading is actualy a disadvantage for applications that run in a single thread, like games. But you can turn it off in BIOS. The RAM may be a little low by todays standards, but RAM is cheap enough to upgrade later.
I would also be wary of the GeforceFX - some versions are rigged up with super-sized fans and heatsinks and make a hell of a racket, and all versions perform well below what you would hope. Radeon is better, but then you allegedly have compatability problems. If you dont mind tweaking drivers and can stand to lose a little eye-candy from time to time, Radeon is the way to go.

On an 800MHZ bus, the DDR 2700 won't keep pace, you'll need DDR 3200. Unless you really need the fancy i/o options of the Audigy Live Drive, just go with a plain Audigy 2. Same card, same performance, a lot cheaper. LCD's are cool, but not optimized for games, especially FPS. Grab a 21" Flat Screen CRT, for the same price. You might also find that an 80GB drive, doesn't go as far as you think it will. I didn't see an optical drive of any sort? Grabe a Lite on 48X burner for next to nothing, or get radical and go with a DVD burner.
The ultimate factor of course is the price. You get what you pay for.

I was thinking of swapping the flat panel out for just that animal So hyper threading doesnt work well in gaming situations ?? well bummer I will be getting two sticks of the memory and was unsure if I needed pc 27 or higher, thanks for the tip's y'all. any other advice ? excluding Vask due to his pc envy issue

On the Asus Geforce FX 5600 Video Card 128MB DDR Model V9560TD I just bought the Asus Geforce FX 5600 Video Card 128MB DDR Model V9560 Video suite. At NEWEGG it is $10 more. I would think about spanding the $10 if you ever think you might be using two LCD's at the same time or you want to connect an s-video device to your computer for video capture. If neither of these seem likely then do not bother. So far I have been very happy with the card. It does come with the converters so that both DVI ports can be converted back to normal SVGA output for normal mornitors.
On the do not get a LCD panel. The ones that are good for gaming are very expensive. I agree a 21 inch monitor for most people is the better idea if they are just buying for gaming. Do think about how much desk room you have for it and the LCD is going to make moving the computer around much easier. Plus the 17 inch LCD is 17 inches the 21 is going to be 20.1 inches or something like that. On hard drives make sure you get one with an 8 meg cache. It will improve preformance. Also if the motherboard supports serial ATA you will get better speed out of serial ATA than EIDE. I highly recommend NEWEGG but you might want to do some price shopping on www.pricewatch.com. NEWEGG is listed on there and sometimes beat everyone on some items. Also one major upside for ordering from one vendor is you know where all the parts come from if 6 months down the road soming breaks but I normally go for best price. Granamere One last thing. Does anyone know when Intel is doing the next price cut? I thought it was planned for early fall. You might want to wait until after that. Listen to Andrewas. He knows his stuff concerning PCs. BTW your specs look good despite what some people say. Heck better than mine. Though I go along and recommend at least 1000 MB or two 512 RAM sticks. More is better for today and future applications.
