Hi there!
If you want to do without a wizard, you'll need to train up one of your characters as a samurai to get sun spells. Or collect the four tomes and become a zenmaster... they get everything! Of course, you can always have a priest switch to wizard (through warlock...), train up in sun magic as high as you want, then switch back to a more priesty class.

Your priest can't learn sun spells. If you're not soloing, make one of your fighters become a samurai so that you can keep your fighting skills while gaining sun spells at the same time.

Yep. The only classes who can learn sun magic are wizards, samurai,
*edit* And to correct, the only "new" schools warlocks can learn are moon and fiend. Anything else, they need to have known first... [ 05-09-2005, 09:58 PM: Message edited by: Bungleau ]

... and I *think* warlocks only get sun if they came through wizard. If they started as priests I think they don't, they just add moon and fiend to their priest realms of spirit and vine. But I could be wrong wrong wrong! maybe they do get it all!

Actually all spell realms are indigenous to the warlock. Upon becoming a warlock only the moon and the fiend spell realms will open themselves to the warlock with one spell each (and usually the warlock will have been a wizard first with the sun and stone realms already open). But all realms are indigenous, so the warlock can learn up to level 7 spells in all realms without being at the double level in the requested realm.

Ah... but I think the question is whether your warlock priest can learn sun and stone now. I don't remember... so if someone wants to test it out, they can prove me either right or wrong

Warlocks. Even if all magic schools are "natural" for warlocks, a warlock gets only Moon and Fiend schools when he becomes a warlock. If the new warlock does not know Fire magic when he becomes a warlock then he won't have Fire magic as a warlock, nobody will teach him Fire magic, and there is no way for him to get the magic.
On the other hand, a zenmaster really gets all magic schools when he becomes a zenmaster.

a solo priest could still be samurai though,
priest-->paladin (guild hop possible)-->samurai (in case you want sun spells in a solo priest without having to do another low hit point spellcaster role)
