First of all, just wanted to say a big "Thanks" to everyone who participated in the Census. This wasn't just a big spam-fest, as you can see, since I have closed the original thread and de-topped it. There were several reasons I wanted to get an idea of how many people we have at General Discussions:

1) to find out what percentage of the total members at IW become active participants in GD (it's 2.1%, if anyone is curious!)

2) to have a directory of who was active at IW in February, that we can check to find if someone is absent for a long period of time (wish we had such a thing last year!)

3) to be able to predict how big General Discussions can possibly get with members (using the 2.1% as an estimate for future members).

4) to be able to use the figure as a basis of comparison for other issues.

So saying, here is the current roster of active participants at IW for the week February 7-14, 2002. I know we have people leave and others who come in, but the rates should remain fairly constant. Once again, thanks for your assistance!

Looking great, Saz!
..But the main idea is to repeat this consensus routine every few weeks?

Im guessing this is because most people join to ask how do you kill Kangaxx or something along those lines.

Yes, Most People Only Join Up To Ask A Certain Question, And If They Ever Need Another Question, They Probabaly have Forgot Their Last Password And Register Again! I Bet There Are At LEAST 2500 Unactive Members...

Nah, shouldn't need to be repeated...maybe in 6 months or so. I doubt everyone who reads GD responded, and we'll have newcomers coming in and others leaving. This at least, however, establishes a baseline for appx. how many we have actively participating at GD, and I can have a pretty good idea of how much we're growing in the near future.

Thanks,
