i just finished the game for the first time and there was nothing i disliked about it.
it has now replaced my previous favorite rpg game. however i thought the dark savant would be more of a challenge i did not even have to use one healing spell to defeat him. is he always that easy in normal gameplay? oh well time to start again with a new party. |

Yes, lots of people have mentioned the dark savant being easy, you could always try increasing the difficulty or going for ironman, or decreasing party size.

In my games he was easy, too. You can also change difficulty to expert. IIRC Ironman only prevents from saving ( you can only do this at the end of the game) . It does not make the enemies harder.

Really? The DS was a really difficult battle for me. Although he was about 10 levels higher than me, so that might have something to do with it

If you think the ds is easy, you might try to fight him as a lvl 11 party (that makes the DS 27 levels higher than you party ). Klarius wrote he succeeded after 4 tries (with one survivor that is), his savegame with 6 lvl 11 chars is in shared in the yahoo group wizardry8savegames in which a couple of people share some (more or less) interesting svaegames. Not that I even want to envision how he could bring that party to cosmic circle .

I'd love to know how he could have managed that and kept his party so low in level, unless he was holding off on leveling up. I can't imagine otherwise how he could have obtained the three doodads, disarmed the tower, and tromped around Ascension Peak and not been somewhat higher at the end. Not something I'd care to try myself.

There's enough xp for every one to level up (a couple of times, 3.7M), i have downloaded the savegame. I guess he did it just as an exercise, but still i can hardly see how you could survive the chaos temple with 8 (vi+urq) lvl 11 "heroes" (or life/knowledge for that matter). Throwing a death bomb, praying and reloading a zillion times would be the only chance i'd see, but i doubt that was the route he took (Deaths range between 0 (vi) and 9 (urq)), kills between 40 and 200.
