Idol of Bongu

How do you get that skill for barbarians from bongu?
I am a barbarian, not boogerised, & I've tried to give & use a boogre brew on it. All I get is a tingling sensation & am healed if I am standing in the mystic fire.

Are we talking about the Same Idol???
This is Not the one, that you use the 'Eye' to access.
This statue is at the end of the 'Gauntlet'. (The start...is in 'Vargil's' Room) The First stage is the Crushers...and there's..rotating turnstyles...spiked, piercing paddles...etc.

hmmmm does it work if you are NOT Boogred??

I never tried doing the brew and the idol when I wasn't Boogred so I wonder if that has something to do with it.
I know it also took me a while to learn where I had to be standing to be able to give the brew, too far back and it won't work, too close and you burn.

Yes Wyvern, I've tried it back & I've tried standing in the fire. I've only tried it 6 times perhaps the chance of getting giantstrike is small & I need to try it 50 times.
I dont know if it works if you are not a boogre.

Wyv, might be right...I know I've never been there as a Barbarian and I know I've always been a Booger...But That shouldn't matter. The idol should still give you a trait....Try standing in a different spot.

The only time I've heard anything about 'A tingling sensation'...was from the other Idol. When 'The hag's strange curse' is reversed.

I've just tried it another 10 times & usually it says I am "overcome with a tingling sensation" but sometimes when I try ti 'give' it the boogre brew it says "something is needed'. I think that something might be boogrism.
I will leave my game there until tomorrow & see if anyone knows.

Ooohkie Doohkie....

I just got back, from the 'Booger Prison'...(where's the...panting/out-of-breath icon)...

You Definitely can get Giant Strike as non-Boogered, Barbarian....

.. Click on Use (not give)...and stand 1 step, back from the fire..(otherwise they try to walk, to the idol).

I got it on the 3rd, 4th & 6th try...sometimes, you have to check what you got, by clicking on the 'Skills' icon...because the text is scrolling too fast.. (like, if there's a bar fight..or..a Roach and a Booger are brawling)

FYI...the other blessings are...Fortitude and the 'Berserk' trait.

Turns out, I was wrong about the dialogue. At the Idol of 'Bangu', the narrator says ...'You are overcome with a tingling sensation...', at the Idol of 'Aku', he says ...'The bizzare Aku idol, vomits a twinkling cloud...'.
I also learned...Jungle lilies aren't that tough...if you find a wrinkle. For some reason, if you run to the top of the 2nd staircase....They stop at the door and Don't fight back. (if you stay out of range)
I beat them with a Ratling/3rd level Rogue/6th level Wizard/10th level Paladin. The Only damage spell she had...was...Iceball. Grabiella, just stood there..casting..Iceball, while the other 2...kept feeding her mana potions.

BTW...I still can't figure out how to use, mana potion, on a solo character. Even when mana levels are low in All the schools....It doesn't let you do it....

yea i tried 2 get the giantstrike trait by giving the boogre brew 2 the idol of bongu. where u have to stand is right in front of the mystic fire directly in front of the idol. that should work, if not, WHOOPS!!!
the mantraps are easy if u juz keep backing out from them. iceball wont do much damage but if u have firestorm, hehheh [img]graemlins/hehe.gif[/img]
anyway enjoy urself in the boogre prison for the time being!

I've got it. I stood exactly close enough to the idol so that I wouldn't do the crazy dance & it worked.
I think the problem I had before was that there were too many things happening on my events bar & I didn't see the fortitude blessing come up & of course it doesn't show up on the traits list. This time I got fortitude 5 times before I got the giantstrike trait.
Thanks for your help guys. 3rd time through & I still find little mysteries.
