Bah! First the dvd drive in my pc died last week so yesterday i replaced it (and added another) and now my computer is dead or terminally ill
For the first time in 10 years I have had to take a PC to a computer repair shop, oh the shame. It seems to have power but does not want to boot? No beep from the motherboard (or series of beeps) So I'm just killing time on the shop computer while they have a look ... ggrr

Argh, that doesn't sound too good, Wellard. Hope they can fix it for you!

I feel your pain, Wellard... the one time I've taken a PC into the shop in the past few years, it was because the machine wouldn't boot. Turned out the motherboard went bad... Had it replaced, but had to buy another one in the meantime.
Me, I'm kind of bummed... I had a customer who I was sure was going to buy a significant chunk of software today (last day of month), but they couldn't get the PO done, and no one was ready to step up and sign the paperwork until the PO was done. *sigh* Ah well... it will come in next month. Spent the evening after dinner fixing up the kids' bikes for our neighborhood fourth of July parade tomorrow morning. Mailboxes were decorated earlier... I'll throw some pics out if I remember. Uncle Sam is saluting in ours... or waving, depending on how you look at it. Now for some thinking and gaming...

Morning guys. Was on World of Warcraft until 1am, then went to bed (fell asleep straight away for once) and woke up at 7am so my dad could take me out driving.
Man it's tricky. So much to register in my head, cluth down, in gear, handbreak off, release it lightly with some revs...after that I was fine. Bit scary when he said "Put your foot all the way down" *grin* Got a bit panicky, but not bad for my first ever time driving a car. Can't wait to go next weekend now!

WOOHOO! Go Ivelliis! learning to drive is cool! starts of terrifying, then you kind of get the hang of it and gain confidence; then you think you are all that, then you crash (or have a near miss) and realise that you are, in fact, not all that. Then you calm down a little.
Theoretically. gutted Wellard - hope it wasnt too expensive (it always is thoguh!) i go nuts when my comp dies. Well, pretty much the only exciting thing here is that my wife is coming home today after being away for a week! NO MORE COOKING!!!

Madman, pay for someone to break your femurs every time you smoke. Or attach some device to yourself that can detect sigarette smoke, and gives you electric shocks. Really big electric shocks. Or insulin shocks.
Have you ever read the Clockwork Orange?

Actually we are planning on eloping. Seeing as our parents never even knew we were dating. I am trying to get us a place to stay, but so far, nothing is working out.
