Micro innovations 3 button optical wheel mouse? I lost the drivers, and need to know how to replace them, because I am tired of the pointer jumping on the screen, and the wheel not working properly, if you have one, could you tell me where to find the drivers? I have done a search, but can not find what I am looking for

are you listening to windows XP again? Any driver that has not gone through WHQL testing will always give that kind of mesage. there are only a few drivers that have had the tests, so most drivers you install will give you that warning. ( thanks M$). there is a way to turn the warning off though, but i cant remember off hand what it is. if your mouse is acting up, its probably an old model. most new (and typicaly expensive) mice have filters and such on that stop the mouse from jumping. try changing the surface your running the mouse on, most 'skipping' is caused by a bumpy or uneven surface.
well since this is an optical mouse, it is hard to use it on anything. Yes, I figured that one out, the laser picks up every little ridge in the pad, and that might cause it, but I have tried running it on everything, with the same results

I've given up on those optical mouse because of the skips and jumps. Now I use a rollerball mouse with a scroller. Works great, just need to clean the ball once in a while which I can tolerate.

I've only had one surface where an optical mouse skipped and such... it was a table in a customer's conference room, very nice wood with deep grains. Put a piece of paper on it, and it worked like a charm.

I've given up on the old mouse-ball ones because they're so finicky without a mouse pad... and so demanding that you stay on it. With my optical mice, I don't worry about that at all.

So... two people two different opinions. Ain't IW great?

Actually I don't use or need a pad with my roller mouse. The optical mouse I could use w/o a pad yet it works better with it but not as good as my rollerball mouse.

Have you trying removing the mouse through device manager, disconnecting it, rebooting, and then plugging it back in? That should allow XP to find a driver for it if necessary.

My experiences with the optical mouse are like Bungs. Usually the only time I have a problem is on a very shiny surface. I love the one I bought to use with my laptop. It's great to use the mouse on the chair arm or my leg.

yeah, tried that just before I lost IW, right after my last post, Found the software I needed, but it did not help, I guess it is the mouse it's self, might see if the wheel is dirty later, cuz the pointer works fine now, but the wheel it's self is still skipping and rolling the wrong way :/
the wheel was just a little dirty now with the software installed, and the wheel cleaned, it should work properly
