I have a client who just referenced the fact that the "Big J" ("Jay"?) had scared off buyers of a property on Staten Island. Anyone know what the heck this is a reference to?

THANKS!

It's a battleship, the USS New Jersey, Iowa class. Maybe they don't want a battleship in their backyard ?

I thought that too, but the USS NJ sits in Camden, NJ, 77 miles away on the Potomac where it was launched.

Jay-Z is from Staten Island iirc. So was Biggy Smalls, but he's dead.

Okay, urgent need is over. You wankers. Joke on my thread will ya?

Anyway, while the meaning of the phrase is still a mystery, investigation leads us to think that the "big" environmental concern on Staten Island would have to be the bigass dump where they stored all the schmutz from the WTC site. That building contained asbestos, most certainly had lots of generators, solvents, petroleum, lead-based paint, etc. onsite. Let's not forget that the... ermmm... *huh* human remains... (sorry) are also hazardous waste.
