I think its good to see some more nations getting involved in cricket, I'm just waiting for one of them to upset a "big" one-day side
Then we'd be seeing some seriously embarassed players

Actually Johnny's boys are making a good fist of things against the World Champions at the moment - the wonders of batting first on a sticky wicket .

[/QUOTE]A "one dayer" like the game that Canada was playing lasts 7 hours (plus an hour for lunch).

A test match lasts 5 days

Arrrgh - they are off the field because of rain. Right now, if it continues to rain for another 2-3 hours, Holland will have a mere 109 to chase in 25 overs. Man I wish I had got a piece of those 2000-1 odds on Holland now. I wonder if Donut invested a fiver - just imagine the collective embarrassment of all the Aussies if Donut were to make a fortune out of OZ misfortune.

PS - Hope you were brave enough to toss a fiver at this Donut - it will be your buy the next time I come visit if you did (and remember - cider please).

They had a pretty world wide competition to see who would win through to the three available places in the world cup (the test playing nations all got automatic entry).

The first 3 place getters were Holland, Namibia, and Canada. The teams that competed and didn't get through included USA (eve they have a cricket team ), Ireland, Scotland, Saudi Arabia (I think) and several others that I can't recall.

PS : Australia did manage to get through with a win against Holland tonight
