I'm hoping someone has been here and has a solution. I downloaded the mod with the girl that sells the amazing arrows in the lower waist works of the forgein quarter in Vivic. I unzipped it in the data files in Morrowind, ...but she doesn't show up. What did I do wrong?

First check that the files ended up in the right place ..\datafiles , ..\datafiles\meshes ect. The way they were saved in the zip file is the same way they should be in the Datafile dir and subdirs.

Next open Morrowind with the launcher (Morrowind Launcher.exe NOT Morrowind.exe) and click the Datafiles option (just below play). You should see a grid with available plug-ins that you can load, the main .esm file, any save games. Just check the plug-in you want to load.

Help any?

Night Stalker said most of what you need to know but you also have to have the patch installed for it to work. I had the same problem.

Night Stalker, this one is adressed to you. I got it from Canadianvixen in the mail, she's having a problem right now and can't post for the time being.

First of all thank you both for your help. I have unzipped the mods into the data files folder in Morrowind, but when I open up Morrowind Launcher and click on data files the only thing that shows up there are Morrowind, Tribuanl and my saved games. How do I get the mods to show up? Only Morrowind and Tribuanl have and X beside them all the saved games have an empty box to the left.

THe data file for the arrows mod has to unzipped into the data files folder in the Morrowind folder. This is where my data files are installed, D:\Program Files\Bethesda Softworks\Morrowind\Data Files. Yours may be different but I hope this helps.

Ok, I just downloaded it to check it out.

After unzipping the mod the file should be:

(install location)\Morrowind\Data Files\AreaEffectArrows.esp

install location is where you installed on your system.

If this file is unzipped in this folder, then the launcher should identify it.

With Tribunal installed, you have all the relevant patches. If the Launcher still does not recognize it, I'm stumped.

Maybe you have a corrupted file. Try downloading again from here and unzip the mod fresh.

Hope this works for you .....

Good luck CV!

I thought I had been very careful in getting it into the right directory, but instead it unzipped as a folder called arrow mod (or some such) in the datafiles directory, with sub folders for meshes etc all of it's own.

In the end I just copied and pasted all the downloaded files to the correct folders. I copied anything in the arrow mod\meshes directory into the datafiles\meshes directory - if there was a sub-directory in the downloaded arrow mod\meshes directory, I created and copied to it in the datafiles\meshes directory). I kept on going like that till all the meshes and textures and sounds where in the right place, then I copied the executable file of the mod to the datafiles directory.

OK - a bit painstaking. It just occurred to me by looking at the directory structure that there was a correct place for everything to go, so I just shifted it there. At the time I had 4 mods downloaded and all of them in this wrong format. I guess things would have backfired very badly if I had made some mistakes in moving things about - BUT IT WORKED FOR ME

Davros, Johnny's pony express arrived with another mail from Canadianvixen, this one is for you.

Davoros that was exactly my problem. I had downloaded into the correct file and extracted it but it then created each mod it's own file and all of those had to be transfered into it's corresponding file in order to operate properly. Thanks everyone for your suggestions and help. I now have 12 working mods.
