just wondering what everyones favorite kits for each class was?
fighter: berserker (love the berzerk ability) ranger: stalker (like the backstab and i hate making my main guy use a bow) paladin: undead hunter (immune to level drains and lots of undead to fight) thief: bounty hunter (for the magic traps) druid: haven't tried any cleric: haven't tried any bard: blade mage: invoker (i rarely use enchantment spells) |

Gotta say that with the paladin kit I really like the inquisitor, and the cavalier. The undead hunter was prob. the best paladin kit in BG2 and cavalier the least effective-but I have a hunch , that the cavalier kit will come into its own in ToB.
As to Bards, I reckon that the blade kit is the worst!!! The bard song does not go up in levels, and so what if they can offensive/devensive spin-they are still rooted to the spot. I far prefer the skald kit which I think rocks, +4 bonuses for the whole party to a variety of stuff with the bard song, at the higher levels. I presume it'll only get better in ToB with the higher levels available. [This message has been edited by Ravana (edited 06-08-2001).] |

don't really know much about bards or really paid attention to the song.
the inquisitor is definately a close second to the undead hunter, the cavalier just doesn't have very good benefits for bg2 |

i reckon the kensai, although losing out to the big draw back of no armour or gauntlets, still has the potential to be the best fighter. admitably the plain fighter class is alot more customisable yet with +1 to hit and damage every three levels and the -2 speed factor every 4, he can kill opponents alot quicker than a fighter, which by the time your in the underdark is pretty fast!
Also if you gave him grand mastery in something like Katanas and two weapon skill he can half the speed of a fight again, (i recommended katanas due to the collectivley low speed factor of the katana even though they are incredibly rare as magical weapons) +(SPOILER) \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ \ Celstial Fury which you can get off of Koshi in the slave lord encounter in the temple district, will, with your character's already enhanced damage and speed bonuses will woop ass with this swords speed factor of 1 which drops to around -7 when the characters fully leveled. give him Malakar+2 after the Asylum section and its tough to see any one beating this guy. \ \ \ \ \ \ but if you want variety the best i can suggest is my current character, invoker/fighter dual class human. the invoker because he's specialised gets an extra spell per level which at level nine, when you need to dual class to max out as a fighter, gets you 2 level 5 spells which can be handy for those of us who like to have alot of protection spells handy (protection from normal weapons and spell immunity+ breach) you also get minor sequencer at level 4 which when used with higher level chromatic orb and magic missle becomes a useful tool indeed. thanx for taking the time to read my first post! |

Berserker and Cavalier gets my overall pick. Most of the other ones like Archer and Kensai are very good too.
