Serpent temple

Before I recieved the serpent temple quest from the wizards guild in Valeia, I had already spoke to Kol the Heretic unfortunately he did not give me the key. When I recieved this quest I went back to the temple and he is not there and I don't have the key.

Any help would be appreciated.

Kol gives you the key whether or not you have a "quest" as long as you talk long enough to him.

THe key that Kol gives you opens a room within the Temple - you can skip this whole bit and still be able to completely finish the game. Otherwise your options are to reload a previously saved game.

To get into the temple - use the backdoor.

Actually, Kol gives you the key once you ask about the "Key"... you can skip the entire conversation and just ask about the key and leave and you'll receive the key.

For most NPC in the game, all you have to do is ask the trigger and you'll get what you need. Of course, if you don't know what the trigger word is, you have to listen to them.

I guess I didn't talk to him long enough because he is MIA. Where is the back door to the serpent temple you were talking about.

Head off along the left side through the woods, cross the water, and swim under the rusty grate.
