From all reports there will NOT be any further games utilizing the Infinity Engine. Any further games in the Baldur's Gate or Icewind Dale series will utilize a new engine.

My guess is that we have seen the last of these two series.

I'd love to see what engine they were going to use with Torn - was it going to be the standard infinity engine?

Whatever they do, just don't make it on the nwn engine... man I was so unhappy with that thing...

Not sure what engine TORN was going to be built on. I don't think it was the infinity engine though.

What's wrong with the NWN engine???? Personally I think NWN is great.

The next major project that's being worked on is code-named Jefferson.

SUPPOSEDLY... it has all the best of the IE, but it will replace the weaker elements of the engine. The talk on the Interplay board from the Devs (i.e. JE Sawyer) is that it will be somewhat similar to the BG games in that you will create a single player and there will be joinable NPC's.

IIRC, It will also be an isometric PoV (like IE games).

They won't officially say that it's a D&D game, but it sure seems that all the hints are being dropped like anvils.

Release date? Not a clue.

Jefferson is definitely a D&D game, but the release day has been postponed - with no explanation given. Supposedly it was going to be released in June.
