White Heron - you are correct. If you play an evil character, Talos will offer the quest. If you know the alignments with the churches, it makes sense.

It might also be dependent on reputation, as some other have suggested on another thread.....for some weird reason, both my good and evil aligned parties got the offer from Helm.....

Come to think of it you're right. My L-G Undead Hunter and my N-E Berserker were both offered the quest by Helm, so has my L-N Sorceror
