Well at least you get to see him soon.. I hope he doesn't sulk on you, there is nothing worse then getting a 'you left me' stare or the slient treatment from your cat.

Hopefully Choc is different than my cat. Whenever I leave for a while and come back, my cat just ignores me. Then again, he only loves his mama (my mother)!
But I'm sure when you get back you'll have a happy reunion!

Seriously tho When I had to go away from my little snapple-wapple last summer i missed her soo much and every time i saw a cat it made me wanna be home with my little snukkuns, which apparently was the last thing she wanted because when I got back she'd ripped everything to near-shreds

My cat doesn't think she's human, she knows she's better than that. its amazing how much you can love a little ball of fluff like a cat.

Dan, I know how you feel.
Because I just moved house and am in complete turmoil, my parents are looking after my birds for the time being. Titus, my budgie, doesn't care one way or the other, he is getting along fine with my mum's budgie and just gives me a 'who the hell are you?' look when I visit. I don't worry about him because I know he is happy. Jasper, my Senegal Parrot is a different kettle of fish entirely. He thinks of me as his bonded mate (parrots mate for life) and misses me dreadfully when I am away. Even when I leave the room he will scream, wondering where I've gone, since parrot pairs rarely go out of sight of each other. And leaving him for two weeks is hard on both of us. He makes do, and begs for scritches and kisses from my parents and brother, behaves quite well, but sometimes he pulls some of his feathers out because he misses me and is distressed. I am going to pick him up tonight and bring him home. I know when I go in the room he will scream and scream (he will probably start when he recognises the sound of my feet on the path outside), dance on his perch in joy, and won't leave my side all evening. I really think parrots are the most dedicated and loyal of pets. I hope Choc greets you with similar joy when you return, Dan.

awwwwww!
I'll bet the poor guy misses you terribly! Make sure to bring him home some special treat or a new toy and set aside some time 'just' for him soon after arriving. I know when I've been away just for an overnight at my parents, my kitties go ballistic when I return...you'd think I'd abandoned them for a month! LOL And I have to sit in the floor and play with them and let them crawl all over me until they are satisfied!

My cat (Helmi=Pearl) is just like that.If I am away a couple of days, she wont even see me,but still she looks so fluffy and cute that I would just want to hug her..and there she goes, away. She also has this strange idea that if shee looks at a door long enough,it will mysteriously open,I wonder where she has got that idea from. And Z just think of your cat when you are away, and the time will go past flying. |
