Hello again.
I have started IWD from the beggining, after first time finishing it,this time with 3 members, but i encountered a "problem".... When I chose to rest, both in an inn and outside, the party rested for about 19 (!) days!! I am at the beggining- Kuldahar first time, so there are max 30-40 HP to recover for the fighter..... Could that be a bug? Thanx a priori.

your game is likely set to "rest until healed" and you lack a cleric/druid with healing spells memorized, it takes much longer to fully heal when resting until healed, especially without magical healing involved.

Morgeraut,
it is true that i have no cleric, but as far as i know, the cleric heals a member "live", I mean he casts a healing spell during game-play time, and there ends his role as a healer. Are you saying that the presence of a cleric in a party affects healing during rest, too?

If you have a cleric, he will cast healing spells upon resting. I dont know if he has any effect beyond that, but it would seem reasonable.

Thanx a lot. I guess I shall have to rest more seldom, if I want to finish the game in a reasonable time, or perhaps use more healing potions and scrolls. I couldn't predict that lack of a cleric would affect the game in such a way!

Without testing I'd say that this is most likely true. Soloing for a while, I encountered a 26 day healing period. Now that's not bad work is it? Three or four days on, and twenty-six off. Who'd mind a job like that.

One thing I would ask though is the propensity to encounter this problem with smaller groups. This may be because we don't have a healer with us, whereas you can afford the diversity with five or six people in party. Who knows. We'll have to test it, but I haven't found resting such a bind with four people. I'll have to check to see if there was a cleric or druid with the group.

anyone with healing abilities will contribute, a paladin can lay on hands, and high lvl paladin's and rangers can also speed up healing times, their ability to cast healing spells is what is checked when determining how long a rest period is required.

I always have a cleric in my party, and whenever I would "Rest until Healed" it would normally be for 16 hours. It takes 8 hours of rest to recover spells. So, IMHO, the cleric rests for 8 hours, regains healing spells, heals the party, and then rests for another 8 hours to regain the spells he just cast. 8+8=16. IMHO.

Well, considering all that you told me, I decided to remove the elven mage/thief from the party and import a gnome cleric/thief. I had gone just on 2nd level with the other members, so loss of xp isn't really an issue. By the way, the other 2 members are a necromancer (human) and a dwarven warrior. I hope I will manage to get along well with this party.
