From another thread, a GOOGOL is the number (10^100 or 1 followed by 100 zeroes) and GOOGLE is a funny way to look at something AND a search engine. A GOOGOLPLEX is a 1 followed by a googol of zeroes. Some physicist thought up these numbers and thought they ought to have a name, his 5 year old son came up with googol.

I'm a dork.

Google`s easier to spell
(I do maths, not literature )

According to a number of maths teachers, a google (or googol if you want to strain my typing skills..) is one to the one thousand. In other words, one followed by a thousand zeros.

I am still cracking up over

"Christ, this thread is boring"

For some reason I have been following that thread. Even though I hate math.

Actually, to be technically correct, ten to the one-thousand. One to the one-thousand is still just "one."

Cheers,

I was about to say... "Wouldn't that just be ONE?!"

Good points to everyone... Technically tho, I'm sick of this discussion becasue theres no chance in your lifetime of ever actually counting to these numbers... what's the point? I tried to when i was like 8... and after a few months of counting in my head I started having seisures so I had to stop Evern my DREAMS were about counting SO a lesson to the kiddies:

Don't try this at home
