Ascension Peak will it give me a hard time?

Hi!
Just reached Ascension Peak, and was looking forward to some challenges and tough fights. But will I find it? The game started out rather difficult, Monastery and arnika road was tough, died a couple of times and had to resurected or reload. but after the first stop in the swamp, life has been really easy, so I'm wondering: will I find some reallly tough monsters at AP. Current level is 21-23, 2xbishops, ranger, monk, fighter, gadgeteer, Vi Domina and R2D2. I want a tough fight, give me a couple of level 30 monsters please. Met 6 savant Henchmen level 28, and was hoping for a fight but no.

Well, that's about average level for doing the Peak. As to a tough time, some people have it hard, and some have it easy. The Rapax Army may give you a bad couple of minutes. And the Souleater is difficult for some, and the Djinns can be trouble if they get off some nasty death spells.

But if you have the right spells of your own, you likely won't have too tough a time of it.

Well, AP can be hard, if you use the wrong spells, but otherwise it will be easy. I hate Djinns of the cloud cuz I don't like that damn draining clouds. The unicorns are nasty, their rearing turncoats you all the time. The sprites and oaks are easy and those demons are also not very hard, when yuo have element shield and magic screen.
The rapax fight only nerves. They are so many but it's really not difficult. Just freeze them or use death wish. It's really just a waste of time. What I hate are Bitterwings. Their poison is so hard even when you have AC > 30. All scorcher are easy but give a lot of XP
Well, I stop now, just enjoy it yourself, the monsters are harder than anywhere else but if you are not dumb they won't be a real challenge. Good luck

I finished the game a couple of times...

If you've been playing on expert difficulty the whole game, AP is pretty easy,especially if you got the best weapons.

Last time I feared not having a challenge because of the way I build my chars. (Samurai/Monk/Lord/Bishop/Gadgeteer/Bard)
100 stealth/35+ AC/best weapons/level 24-26 (all dungeons done)

I decided to give every char a less devastating weapon...
No light sword/ fang / muramasa / staff of doom...

The fights took a lot of extra rounds, and therefore strategy became important. Try AP like you are now... If the fights are really too easy, try this. Just keep those weapons close so you can grab them if things get a bit out of control. Be aware that there are 2 or 3 fights that are a real challenge like this... make sure to save before engaging combat.

It depends on the chars if it's hard or not.

My two bishop team (with vi and rfs) on expert level is very tough.
Even though they now are very powerfull (my bishops are lvl 31 now) - they have max in alle schools and realms - and most spells (all the goodones anyway) - and their powercast is also max out, but I still have to be very carefull, because they use their (large amount) of mana fast.
