Rugby World Cup
With the Rugby world cup coming up, who do you think will win?
I think France will do well, playing at home. New Zealand will do well and might win, but I think I will go for South Africa to win. I would like England to but they are NOT the team than won last time.

Re: Rugby World Cup
God i hope the All Blacks do it this time, we have waited too long. Mind you, the public here puts a lot of pressure on - if they dont win, we will throw them to the dogs.
However, France is looking strong, Aussie can never be written off, and South Africa will also be tough. I do think we can do it this time, but i wont be suprised if we dont. Oh, and if it isnt the All Blacks, i dont care who it is, as long as it is not Australia.

Re: Rugby World Cup
I think it will be the Aussies or the New Zealanders. Don't want the Springboks to win.

Haha, being English I have to agree with that I can see the last 4 being NZ, SA, France and Oz.

Gotta be the Hobbits. I'm actually flying to Cardiff for the weekend next weekend to watch the Wobblies beat on the Taffs. I can see us getting to the QFs but no further. England have about as much chance of winning as the OZ (i.e. none). |

As much as i would like to think aussie have no chance, i have seen them rise to the occasion too often to write them off.
What a start to the tournament with Argentina getting a stunning victory over the hosts.

Re: Rugby World Cup
Sorry Johnny, Tibet had to withdraw this time around.
I am pretty sure it was becasue the Nepalese stole the goats they were going to sacrifice. And you know how it goes, you cant turn up to the rugby world cup without your sacrificial goats! And it was good to see the All Blacks in decent form against Italy. Full credit to Italy for a couple of nice tries (and they probably should have had a third). I was stoked to see Doug Howlett get 3 tries as i picked him for top tournament try scorer in our work tipping comp.

Re: Rugby World Cup
Tibet has their goats and we have our daggy schoolboy caps! It's hard to take a team of big, strong guys seriously when they're wearing those things.
I watched the first 20 mins of a qualifier between Aus and Japan last night. Felt a little sorry for the Japanese team. I don't watch a lot of rugby, but i'd imagine that pushing a scrum back for 20m or so and then scoring a try is pretty rare, yes?
