I just recetly read or heard something about people the people in southern California passing an act saying that you can't call yourself a pet "owner" because pets are individuals also and cannot be "owned"
Pretty stupid... I own or have a pet dog myself (an akita)

You guys know any other stupid laws out there???

And, yes, I know of a stupid law here in Texas...that you can be arrested for carrying a pair of wire cutters on your person. Hello? Like what do we networkers use then when we're cabling Twisted Pair? It's a ridiculous law left over from the 19th century and the cattle rustling days, when thieves used to cut through barbed wire fences. Now it's ridiculous.

Evil often is no more than a once great Good that has totally outlived its usefulness.

if you look at it in the way that if no one took the responsebility to take care of (own) a pet they probably would be executed by the breeder sooner or later...

I heard that in Germany a pillow is considered a weapon. I've also heard that in London you can piss(picture aid ) any place you want as long as you have your foot on the tire of you car. (I don't think that one is true though)

Those of you 'owning' cats are reminded every day that the 'owning' may not be the way you think it is !

LOL Moiraine!
When I read the beginning of the thread, I thought the act was pretty stupid but know that I don't own my cats...they own me.

(Now, the dogs are mine LOL!)

Not exactly a law, but about law being an ass:

A car thief who got caught and jailed, sucessfully sued the car owner and got possession of the car. Crazy.

Sorry my dog-friend drapped all over your lawn and dug up your garden, but I can't be held responsible. I don't "own" him as he is an individual with his own life. Unfortunately the dog has no money to repay you. Gee, that's tough luck.

I suppose that's more California logic for you. It lines right up there with deciding not to build any power facilities for 10 years and wonder why there are blackouts.

not really sure... but i heard some american teenager was chewing gum or something in korea and got busted. I guess they figure that the guy is eventually going to spit it in the streets.

Gum is illegal there or something. they want to keep the place clean.
