Sometimes when I'm soloing, and I have a familiar. THen I complete a quest where my backpack is full, he gets dumped out! Its quite funny, but it has no impact on my hit points.

Anyhow, I decided to put him back for the realistic effect, instead of just saving room. That bag of holding is close anyway..

Anyone else have this happened?

It's a known glitch that lamers use to boost their hitpoints to four-digit numbers.

Actually, I've given it a good go... and the familiar dump/wait for it to vanish trick doesnt actually appear to work.

Whether or not thats a Baldurdash or official patch fix, I don't know. But it is definately fixed in a patched and up-to-date game.

I guess why the familar left you friend was because he didn't like you. Or maybe you cramped your pack with so many items the familar felt he had to leave until he sees that the pack has more space again. Imagne how your familar feels in a smelly old pack with weapons of mass destruction potitons etc. And how much space it takes up! He would hardly have space for himself.
