Ahoy!
I'm on the lookout for a diamond so I can make the +2 Astral blade... this is my second run through the game, but for the life of me I can't remember where the diamonds are in this chapter (4?). The chapter with Beorunna's Well. Thanks for any help you can give!

I haven't reached farther than chapter 2 yet, but I think that diamonds are random treasures. I had that issue as well in chapter 1 when I tried to forge weapons and this this time through, I've played chapter 1 more than once, I didn't find any diamonds until the end of the chapter. I have gotten them before that in previous games.

Not 100% certain, but I'm pretty sure you can get one ...
SPOILER - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - ... from the dragon, White Fang in the Snow globe. You have to kill him first of course, but I think there is one in his chest- where you also find the Word of Power.
