In the manual it says the a monk makes a great assasin. Now I completly enjoy using a monk and an assasin. But how on earth can they be a good combo? If you use a monk right, bare-handed, then you don't get the death attack bonus. At least I didn't. Shouldn't you get the assasin sneak attack bonus even though you are using no weapons? Am I wrong, or is there a fix? Why, Why, WWWHHHHYYYYY!!!! (Ok I'm not bitter anymore)

hmmmm, seems to me you should get a death attack unarmed. You could always try Kamas...

I could use kamas but I just figured that you should be able to use death attack unarmed. Is there a fix or hak for this? Or am I just out of luck...someone else has to wonder why it doesn't work this way.

I suspect no one else knew it was a problem - try contacting bioware/atari directly. Of course with the kamas you then have the problem of two weapon fighting (ambidexterity, etc.). Have you tried the automatic upgrade? If not then check out the patch located here:

http://www.atarisupport.com/newfaq/n...play=DOWNLOADS

Also try their support here:

Their support forum is here:

I have used the auto update and also have the expansion, well I guess we wouldn't be disgussing if I didn't, but haven't tried the other links. Thanks for posting them for me. Can I address this situation to them using any of those links? And I will post what happens here when I find out.

I assume you can. the forum isn't really responded to by atari but at the top of the forum list you'll see that they have an "direct" link. Could take them a while to get back to you on it, and all they might say is: "thanks for letting us know about this bug..."

monks automatically get the ambidexterity feat, even with kamas, in fact, it is the preferred weapon of monks, if there is such a thing, and they can still use their flurry of blows mode while armed with kamas.
As for the assassin abilities, i run a monk assassin, and it doesn't seem like she gets the sneak attack bonuses, but she does, when applicable, but the only way I know is the paralysis thing. That is innate to an assassin. Are you getting that effect on targeted creatures at all?

its been a while since I played a pure monk, but I don't ever remember getting the ambidexterity feat for free - in fact my first go-through NWN's I actually spent a feat on it (stupidly). I'm also sure that my level 2 monk (rest sorceror) didn't have this feat in SOU.

I'm still waiting for tech support to email me back... When I use my monk/assasin and i sneak and attack i never get the little words popping up saying ive gotten in a sneak(death) attack or even paralyzed somebody. I don't use that character anymore but I will use him again and check it out. I suppose if there isn't a way I'll have to beg somebody to make a hak file for it or something, since I have no clue as to how to go about it.
