Someone tried to hack into IW Sunday maybe

Sunday at 9:40AM, 2 attempts were made to log in via FTP to Ironworksforum using 'anonymous@ftp.microsoft.com' Now, I don't know if it was just someone thinking we had a public ftp, or someone looking for a back door, but if you are the one that did this, please email me before I do a scan of all members and I match the IP up. [img]smile.gif[/img] I am too tired now. [img]smile.gif[/img]

Anyway, FYI: IW is sealed tight, with 3 types of protections and firewalls/routers, and we NEVER open any other port except the normal http 80, and 2 others.

I am sure this was someone just wanting to upload a sig--thinking they could or something, but I don't currently allow it--maybe in the future.

Anyway, just wanted to let ya know.. If the 'dude' that did it is read'n, PM or email me. Because I have an excellent logfile trail.

Does Microsoft mean anything in this context? (I don't know anything about FTP except you use it to upload web pages and such).

'anonymous@ftp.microsoft.com' is the standard login for someone using internet explorer as an FTP browser. It has no significance beyond that.

just on the off chance one of those attacks were someting to do with angel wings, I did post something about it in the art forum, I was tring to use my browsers search function, and it appereantly tried to do something to IW, if that is not it, then disregard this, if it is, please go to the art forum for more info on what took place
