Well I'm at minimum for RAM and video card and just a bit under minimum for my CPU. Now I was wondering if anyone has a similar situation, cause I might want to buy a cheap video card (was thinking gforce fx5200) and 128 mb extra ram to at least have these specs a bit better. Would this help a lot compared to an Nvidia riva tnt 32mb +128 mb?

256MB RAM will help greatly in NWN, and a GFX card upgrade even more so, but 2 things - 1. What CPU do you have and 2. What's your GFX card budget (since I strongly recommend something other than an FX5200!)?

733 mHZ pentium III. The problem is that this PC is really old and I don't want to spend a lot on it so basically that was the second cheapest card I could get. It would mainly be for NWN nothing else.

I need a laptop for uni soon too so I won't do a real upgrade on this PC.

Well there's a FX5500 for 12E more so that might be another option but the rest of the nvidia cards in the shop is over 100E and well I didn't want to shell out too much on this together with the RAM.

I ran NWN on a P3 500 for a while, get at least 512 RAM and a minimum 128 MB vid card and you'll be fine, as long as the game can run most of the graphics off the video card it won't bother your system that much.

I'm running on an FX-5200, and I'm not having any problems, of course I am well past the required processor, at 2.4 gig, and have 256 RAM. I plan on updating both, but for now, the vid card is performing a lot better than the 64 meg card that was built in on this unit...

This is basically what I've read everywhere. FX5200 isn't really recommended since it doesn't give you what you should get but for NWN it's fine. Looks like I'll be looking into this very seriously now

If running on an underspec comp, turn the graphics quality down.

I swear when I save up enough cash I'll be getting a graphics card, integrated card run it fine my butt! >< Had to turn the graphics all the way down to stop the choppiness

I'm completely down but it's still lagging a bit and maybe if I get a new graphics card I can play online. But it looks like I'll be spending money on something else so I'm not really sure anymore if I'll upgrade.

In a short time lots of things can happen

With the graphics all the way down on mine, I have no lag whatsoever.

And my compy is all up to specs except for probably the graphics card.

Integrated cards cause lots of problems because they run off of your system RAM instead of having seperate RAM for the card (at least the one's I've had experience with), which, if your RAM is on the low side, will cause problems with choppiness and lag. It will probably be most evident when switching area's as you'll have to wait for the computer to render everything (which makes keeping up with friends with faster PC's harder), the next problem area would be when there are large numbers of monsters on the screen, heck in SoU in a certain cave with kobolds my comp lags and it blows the specs out of the water, I'd hate to see it on a computer below specs, especially video (especially especially on-board video cards)
