Congratulation mate!

I've got a new daughter in my house as well, so I can empathize...

The good news is that with the baby being that big, he shouldn't have long to go before he can eat enough to get himself through the night. Once babies are 14lbs. or so (so the "experts" say) they should be able to eat enough to sleep through the night. Works for some, not for others.

Now where did I leave that doughnut?!

Congratulations man! Hope the kid and your wife are doing fine!

In the foul darkness one figure will emerge to save the world from evil and despair.... Light flashes as his sword comes down, and thunder rolls through the sky when he points his sword up to heaven to signal his victory....People whisper his name as he walks by, evil tries to hide as they sense his presence nearby.... His name? Link......

Thank you, everyone, for the congratulations.

I think I posted earlier that the entire nursing staff knows me, on sight, as the father with the big baby boy. In addition I had a man I have never met before (also a new father apparently) come up to me and ask "how's that big baby boy of your's?" We have no idea why he's so big. Furthermore, my wife is not a big woman (ouch is right).

The family is fine, although it will be another two days before they are home. Consequently, I am spending a lot of time at the hospital, most of which is spent changing diapers, burping, or holding him. Today we I started reading Beowulf to him. He didn't fuss, which I interpret as him being riveted by the story and awestruck at my exceptional ability to read out loud, implementing the appropriate voices (dripping with sarcasm).

Well, after a few more posts, I will be off to nap and then it's back to the hospital for me. I'll write later.

Welcome to the world, Andrew Nathaniel! May thy ways be ever blessed.

I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom for me and you
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll never know
And I think to myself what a wonderful world
Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

Wow, nice fireworks Sazerac!

I've always like the lyrics to that song.

Thanks.
