granted, there are very cool items to be found/constructed in the game, and if you're a mage you can make a few of your own via the sphere, but...

considering how famous you're character is/will be (by the end of bg2, known from baldur's gate to suldanessalar) and his feats accomplished (wiping out entire lairs of beholders/illithids, 3 or 4 dragons slain, killed a drow matron, etc etc etc...

drizzt was "only" 16th level in bg and had 2 badass swords and the best chain in the game (+4 and could still use stealth)...

i hope ToB has somewhere that lets you gain a custom item without resorting to cheats. i'd much rather have cromwell work on a custom suit of armor or sword for 3 months of game time even if it's not as awesome as something you could find. think of all the difficult to acquire items you've run across that could easily be used in its construction: dragon bits, illithid brain, demon heart, beholder eyes, etc.

one can hope, else i will be looking for ThroneKeeper soon.

That sounds like a cool idea, the Illithid Helmet, which grants psionic attack(Made from Elder Brain Blood), the Beholder Visor, which grants the magical attacks of a Beholder(Made from a Beholder Eyestalk), and stuff like that, that would be cool, and maybe if he could melt two artifacts into one MONDO KICKA$$ ARTIFACT OF DOOM, or something like that.

heh, soon im gonna start working on the Bladeslinger Chain of Venca, which combines the AC bonus of Bladeslinger Chain w/ the casting bonuses of the Robe of Venca. i plan to come up w/ a really cool story about some rift in magic that caused the two items to meld together.
