About dying while under the influence of the Polyjuice Potion: it happened to Barty Crouch's mother (read Goblet of Fire again!!). I think you'll return to normal after the potion's effects wear off, but as she was in Azkaban at that moment, she was probably buried pretty soon.

The question is: was it Slytherin's locket that was the Horcrux, or was it what was *inside* Slytherin's locket that was? If it was the latter, then it could well be whatever what was hidden inside the Black's locket.

In response to how Snape got the book that's fifty years old, it's very clearly said that it belonged to his mother. Remember her last name was indeed "Prince." So Snape was a "Half-Prince." Hence, Half Blood Prince.

I am also curious about the wording she used when Hagrid "apparently" put DD's body down. Maybe she is holding that off. We'll see...

So, Snape is a 'Mudblood'. That makes his membership of Slytherin (who only wished to teach pure-blooded, noble wizards) rather intriguing.

As was explained in the books earlier on: Slytherin does not necessarily house Death Eaters only, nor does it house purebloods alone.

The Sorting Hat places you in the appropriate house based on your virtues, on where you would develop your magic skills best. Undoubtedly, Severus was best at home in Slytherin, regardless of what Salazar would've thought of that.

Just makes Snape a big hypocrite if you ask me.

Well, he seems to value the so called pure blooded wizards and witches more. And because he's the head of Slytherin, and that house seems to be partial pure blood.
That's just my feelings regarding Snape and his actions. Its a distinct possibility that I am way off base. Its been known to happen.

I just don't like the guy.

Remember, Voldemort's a mudblood himself, and he favors purebloods as well. It's the reason that counts.
