I'm just wondering why the travel time between the same places is different? To be more specific:
From Gnoll Stronghold TO West of Nashkel (the place directly West) is 48 hours (48!!), but from West Nashkel TO Gnoll Stronghold is only 20 hours. I've run into the a few other times too. Any ideas as to why this is? Thanks. Hal |

For whatever reason, the game will sometimes not take the fastest route to get to an area. Looking at this travel chart...
http://www.pottsland.com/baldur/maps/travelchart.shtml ... it would appear that your group travelled from the Knoll Stronghold to Dryad's Forest (24 hrs) and then to the Xvart Forest (24 hrs), a total of 48 hrs. But from the Xvart Forest you can travel directly to the Knoll Stronghold (20 hrs). I don't really have an explaination for why the game behaves this way, but at least now you can follow the travel chart to see what's going on.

IIRC there is a opening roughly halfway down the 'west of Nashkel' map. This leads directly to Gnoll Stronghold. Perhaps you take the long route around if you don't use that exitpoint.
