Im cruising through the OC for the 1st time.
Im human Level 9 fighter level 3 barbaraian level 1 wizard (dont ask me to explain why i have such a poor combo) Am I incurring a 20% XP penalty due to barb and wizard being 2 levels apart? IWD used to say when this was the case, but i can't see it anywhere on my char sheet. 2nd question if I may, my henchman sharwyn has decided to stop using ranged weapons, the text option is set for her to fire ranged, but she just refuses to use her bow and arrow. She was quite happy with the ranged weaopn in chapter 1 and 2, but now she seems to have run out of ammo or something... any ideas? Thanks heaps in advance. Alan |

Yes, if the non-favored levels are more than one apart, the penalty applies. If you bring wizard up to 2, the penalty will be removed.
Can't help with your henchman, though, as I don't use them. |

As for the henchman, unless you've given her some more arrows, she probably did run out.

Uh, I don't think you can give them stuff in the first oc. No inventory control. Try telling her to switch to melee, then switch her back again. Loop her. Not sure if that will help, but I seem to remember having that problem with Tomi, and that's what I did.

Thanks guys, i let her die, and spend some time back in town, when i got her back, she seems to now have some ammo. I tried to give her some, but the only thing i can give her is potions. I'm guessing this changes for the expansions, I'll find out soon enough.

Sorry, but ALL of the henchman with ranged weapons have unlimited ammo. They don't use arrows or bolts, they have bows with the unlimited arrows ability.

That makes sense, cheers.
Another question if i may. What use is the raise dead spell? If my henchman dies she is teleported back to the temple, if i die its game over. Can the spell be used? |

Yes, but mainly in multiplayer. At least I don't remember any instances where you'd want to, or be able to use it in single player.

Hi world,
I wont start a new thread for my ongoing questions, you great people seem to find them here easy enough. OK, I have finished the OC, absolutely fantastic game, not quite as good as BG, but easier and awesome nonetheless. I have started SOU and now midway through the game i finally decide i better learn about these "epic classes" , fortunately the 'search' button has been able to answer most of my questions, but i still have some simple questions if I may. 1) By the end of HOU approx what level will my char be? I'm guessing close to 30. 2) Epic levels, Ive seen referred to a few times, I assume is levels from 21 onwards? 3) Back to my original question with the 20% penalty, do the epic classes still incur this? Eg with my (human) fighter10/sorc1/RDD3 will i be incurring a 20% xp penalty due to the sorc class and RDD being more than 2 levels apart, or are the epic classes exempt from this? (pray mode on) RDD appears to have the edge over some of the other epic classes, this could just be my interpretation of things, this isn't a question just an observation. Once i have finished this i'll consider giving multi player a go. I'm guessing the skill level takes a big jump with online play? |
